Operation Toofan (Toofan Thadeshakam) 2nd Phase

The panchayat-level inauguration of the second phase of the Kerala Government’s extensive anti-drug campaign, Operation Toofan (Toofan Thaddesham), was held at the Annamanada Grama Panchayat Hall.

The function was presided over by Grama Panchayat President Smt. Sunitha Sajeevan and inaugurated by Mala Circle Inspector Shri Shaju A.N. Grama Panchayat Vice President Shri P.D. Jose delivered the welcome address, while Mala Assistant Excise Inspector Shri Binoy P.B. delivered the keynote address.

As part of the programme, a screening of the state-level inauguration ceremony, the Toofan Thaddesham Pledge, flag hoisting, distribution of Toofan Warrior Badges, an anti-drug song performance by NSS volunteers from schools within the panchayat limits, and a flash mob were organized.

The objective of the campaign is to make the panchayat drug-free by coordinating the law-enforcement capabilities of the police, the grassroots support of local self-government institutions, and the assistance and participation of the health and education systems, along with the active involvement of Kudumbashree, youth, and the wider community. Through this coordinated effort, anti-drug activities are intended to reach every family within the panchayat.
